After graduating at the top of his class from Wharton and Berkeley (MBA in finance), he went on to hold numerous positions on Wall Street, as an analyst for Value Line, Wertheim, and Lehman Brothers. He also was a Portfolio Manager for the #1 ranked Oppenheimer Fund. Norman has been the President of a commercial real estate brokerage firm and the Senior Partner of a private investment partnership.
Travis is focused on building successful relationships and helping our portfolio companies achieve their goals. He provides sound advice and strategy, helping businesses make tough choices. Travis has a degree in Economics from Michigan State University.
Outside of work, Travis actively cycles and runs with his wife. He is also involved in environmental conservation, particularly the preservation of Sonoma County’s watershed.

Alberto Chiappa holds a Master of Engineering degree from the Politecnico of Milan, Italy and an MBA from Stanford University. After graduation, he joined a material science silicon valley company holding positions in sales and marketing in Europe and in the US. He then developed several multi-family projects including the first”Artist in Residence” building in Los Angeles and several environmental projects in China. In the last 20 years he was a partner in a company, which became the largest worldwide brand of classical guitars.
Acquisition and Development Manager
Guido graduated with a Bachelors of Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara. During his undergraduate studies, he worked as a LEED consultant (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) for large development projects. After graduation, he worked for real estate consultants, property managers, and developers. He also designed, entitled, and built a zero-carbon home in San Diego.
Guido’s role is dedicated to building strategic partnerships for real estate related ventures.
He enjoys spending time outdoors swimming, surfing, hiking, motorcycling, and spending quality time with friends and family.
Steven M. Romanoff is a licensed attorney and real estate broker in California.
He obtained his undergraduate degree in Business Economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara. In 1987, he received his law degree from the University of San Diego Law School and graduated in the top 2% of his class. Mr. Romanoff started his legal career at Gray, Cary, Ames & Frye (now DLA Piper) in their Real Estate department in 1987. In 1992, he established a sole practice in La Jolla, California specializing in business and real estate transactions. From 1992 to 2003, he represented numerous developers, investors, lenders and business owners with business and real estate transactions totaling over $150,000,000. From 2003 through mid-2009, Mr. Romanoff was General Counsel to a private commercial lender, handling all legal aspects of the loan business, and assisted in placing over $1,000,000,000 in real estate loans, and handled loan workouts and management of distressed REO.
In July, 2009, Mr. Romanoff joined La Jolla Cove Investors, Inc. as General Counsel, and manages its corporate compliance issues and other legal matters.
Paul is the Portfolio Accountant for La Jolla Cove Investors and has been with the firm since 2011. His responsibilities include accounts payable and receivable, financial analysis and reporting.
He has a broad range of experience in both private and public sector Finance and is a Chartered Management Accountant from the UK. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Coventry University.
Paul is also a FAA certified helicopter flight instructor and commercial pilot in his spare time and enjoys skiing, mountain biking and following English Premier League soccer.
Steve is focused on building strategic partnerships for Real Estate and Private Equity related ventures. He is also responsible for the sourcing, underwriting and execution of investment opportunities.
Prior to joining LJCI, Steve spent 4-years with Revere Capital, a $500 million discretionary debt fund, as Vice President of originations he was responsible for sourcing, underwriting and closing new senior debt opportunities as well as the acquisition of non-performing loans secured by real estate. Steve graduated with a BA from the University of Virginia.
Outside of work, Steve enjoys staying active and spends his time cycling, skiing, playing hockey, and riding motorcycles.
Katie cultivates new business through the identification of symbiotic relationships and the realization of achieved goals. Her focus is directed towards acquiring, adding value, and selling land to be developed.
Katie is a licensed real estate agent in both New York & California with NAR Green Designation. She has an extensive background in sustainable design and consults project teams on the selection of healthy building materials. Katie has a BA from Emory University and an MA from the Sotheby’s Institute of Art.
Katie enjoys hiking, yoga, swimming, frequenting art galleries, as well as cooking big dinners with her husband for friends and family.
